EMS
Nerstrand Fire & Rescue is a Minnesota EMSRB registered Medical Response Unit. EMS First Responders provide medical first response until Paramedic ambulance arrival. Our EMS members are certified by the State of Minnesota EMSRB at the EMR, EMT, and Paramedic level and provide care at the Emergency Medical Responder level. We obtain Medical Direction From Southeast Minnesota EMS Dr. Wilcox and our Patient Care Guidelines are provided by Mayo Clinic.
Skills and Medication - Automated External Defibrillator, oral and nasal airways, non visualized airways, epinephrine auto injector, aspirin, oral glucose, naloxone, tourniquets, oxygen, vital assessment including blood glucose measurement.
Paramedic ambulance response is provided by North Memorial - Faribault in the City of Nerstrand as well as Holden and Wheeling Townships. Northfield Hospital + Clinics EMS Paramedics respond to Dennison and Warsaw Township.
